The Chapman Family

The Chapman Family are a group of four miserable northerners from Teesside, England and have been playing together since May 2006 – Kingsley Chapman (vocals/guitar), Pop Chapman (bass), Paul Chapman (guitar), and Phil Chapman (drums). They decided to create their own brand of intensely dark and noisy indie as they were tired of being bored and uninspired by the same old bands week in, week out. They are as much inspired by folk as hardcore punk and their occasionally chaotic gigs can change from euphoric to the apocalypse in an instant.

Sebastian Clark

Sebastian Clark is a wonderful experimental folk musician who made his debut album, Songs from a Van, quite literally from his van using a myriad of electrical sources to record. What mostly shines through on this tuneful disc is a breezy fondness for the bright, sunny side of pop radio’s golden days –– Lennon/McCartney, Simon & Garfunkel, and Jim Croce in particular. Highlights of Clark’s new-millennium hippie wanderlust are “Home” and the singalong “All Of My Love.”

Mamas Gun

Mamas Gun have got soul — but they’ve also got pop, jazz, funk, blues and rock, and the album delivers on all fronts. Together in this five-piece line-up for two years and taking their name from an Erykah Badu album, Mamas Gun are already knocking out five-figure festival crowds in Europe. ‘Routes To Riches’ is predominantly written by Platts, who co-produced it with Julian Simmons (Guillemots), and takes inspiration from the best contemporary and classic artists, but with a style that’s completely theirs.

Mineral

"Mineral" could refer to at least four bands, an emo band from Houston, Texas, Armenian rock music veterans from Jermuk and another one from Boston. 1) Mineral formed in 1994 and like other young bands, they toured constantly, virtually living in their van. The band's first release, the 7 inch "Gloria"/"Parking Lot" 7", was released on Audio Concept by Kerry McDonald from Christie Front Drive (the record was later re-released by Caulfield Records). Through a few rabid fans, that 7" found its way into the hands of crank! and Mineral later decided to release their records on the label.
