The Hit is 5 piece Pop/Rock band from Dallas, TX. The band was started by Singer/Songwriter Kade Holloway in September 2008. THE HIT have played on the Vans Warped Tour, been chosen as a top 21 unsigned band by PureVolume, and were featured in the AP&R segment of Alternative Press magazine. The band embarked on a full US tour in November 2010 with Millionaires, Brokencyde, and Kill Paradise. Leslie Mendelson is a singer/songwriter from New York with influences ranging from Carole King to Laura Nyro. Influenced by her father, a trumpet player and music teacher, Leslie became passionate about music during her early childhood. She starting singing some of her original music with Mother Freedom, a Long Island funk-rock combo with whom she recorded an album. Then, in the Spring of 2002, Leslie relocated to New York City beginning her songwriting career. There, she became a part of Manhattan’s downtown music scene and participated in the New York Songwriters Circle.
The idea to create a southern grind band that would up the ante in American grindcore came about in July 2002, exactly one day after the demise of founding members Chris Andrews and James Delgado's sludge band EOTS. Violent, blistering grind seemed like the only interesting option after wandering the destructive quagmire of slow-as-mud riffs and pummeling sound levels for a few years, learning their instruments and gaining stage experience.
