Chicago blues is now synonymous with guitarist Nick Moss. Though the golden era of Chicago blues is long past with many of its key players deceased or retired, this young Chicagoan stands tallest in the current generation of blues performers that honor the letter and spirit of the great urban African-American music. Linda Perhacs is an American psychedelic folk singer-songwriter, who released her only album "Parallelograms" in 1970 to scant notice or sales. The album was rediscovered by record enthusiasts and grew in popularity with the rise of the New Weird America movement and the Internet. It was reissued on CD and 2-LP in 2005, and again in 2008. Native of Mill Valley, California, United States, Linda Perhacs spent many years away from the music industry (mostly spent as dental technician).
For All Those Sleeping was formed in October of 2007 in Saint Cloud, Minnesota, United States. They were quick to build a name for themselves with their hard hitting verses and melodic “sing a long” choruses, which quickly reached out to fans across the Midwest. Don’t let their name deceive you, For All Those Sleeping is most definitely awake and busy. In their first year, For All Those Sleeping appeared on the widely-known Vans Warped Tour and Cornerstone Festival all before releasing their debut EP "The Lies We Live" in September of 2008.
Braid is an American band from Urbana, Illinois that formed in 1993. After forming, the band went through several line-up changes but eventually settled on Bob Nanna on vocals and guitar, Todd Bell on bass, Chris Broach on guitar and vocals and Roy Ewing on drums. Roy was replaced in 1997 by Damon Atkinson. In 1999 Braid disbanded and went on to form Hey Mercedes with all band members minus Chris Broach (who went on to form The Firebird Band) and adding Mark Dawursk. The band reformed for a US tour in 2004 and, now that Hey Mercedes are defunct, apparently intend to tour sporadically.
Remain was a 90s hardcore band. Emotional music, thought provoking lyrics, mid-tempo hardcore that is full of passion and is not pretentious or forced. Musically, it sounds like Ashes, later Outspoken, even later Turning Point. Lots of octaves, melody, no real "break downs" per se. This was the time before modern "dancing" had evolved, and the mosh was very ungraceful and barbaric, and the tempo of the music went along with that. There's even a couple of awesome dive bomb's hidden in there.
