Vital Remains

Vital Remains is a blackened death metal band from Rhode Island, USA formed in 1989. Influenced by the likes of Venom, Celtic Frost, Bathory, Mercyful Fate, Sodom and Destruction. Originally comprised of guitarists Paul Flynn and Tony Lazaro, vocalist Jeff Gruslin, bassist Tom Supkow, and drummer Chris Dupont, the group has been through several line-up changes and record labels over the years. A pair of demos (1989's "Reduced to Ashes" and 1990's "Excruciating Pain") led to a contract with French label Thrash Records, who in turn released "The Black Mass" in 1991.

Alfred Newman

Alfred Newman (March 17, 1900 – February 17, 1970), was a major American composer of music for films. In 1939, Newman began a twenty-one year career as music director for 20th Century-Fox Studios. He composed the familiar fanfare which accompanies the studio logo at the beginning of Fox's productions. At Fox, he also developed what came to be known as the Newman System, a means of synchronising the performance and recording of a musical score with the film. The system is still in use today.

Lustmord

Brian Williams is a British electronic musician often credited for creating the dark ambient genre with albums recorded under the name Lustmord. Williams started recording as Lustmord in 1980 before joining SPK in 1982.
Lustmord has extracted field recordings made in crypts, caves, and slaughterhouses, and combined it with occasional ritualistic incantations and Tibetan horns. His treatments of acoustic phenomena encased in digitally expanded bass rumbles have a dark ambient quality.

Futures End

Futures End is a Californian progressive metal band formed by guitarists Christian Wentz and Marc Pattison. Once their first few demos were completed, Fred Marshall, formerly of progressive metal band Zero Hour, was chosen to be their vocalist. Shortly thereafter, bass legend Steve DiGiorgio (Death, Iced Earth) and drummer Jon Allen (Testament, Sadus) came on board to complete Futures End. The band’s debut album, Memoirs of a Broken Man, was released in 2009 under Nightmare Records to considerable critical acclaim.

American Me

Originally formed in Portland, Oregon as a side project of It Prevails in 2006, American Me ended up going full time to pursue a heavier endeavor. Since getting signed to Rise Records, the band has released 2 full length albums, the most recent of which being Siberian Nightmare Machine, and 1 EP, with a 3rd full length due for release August 2012 through Rise Records. Brokeback 2011 consists of Pete Croke, Jim Elkington, Chris Hansen, and Douglas McCombs. They've spent the past winter and spring working on a new batch of songs. This fall they'll be playing the first Brokeback shows since 2008. More later... Brokeback is the name of Tortoise bassist Douglas McCombs' side project. In 1999, he released the project's first recording, Field Recordings From the Cook County Water Table, which revealed a slightly less constricted version of the post-rock sound Tortoise had made famous.
