Vladimir

There are several projects with name "Vladimir" 1) Vladimir play a mix of post-rock and indie-rock akin to Mogwai, Sparklehorse or Mercury Rev. Their specific play with dynamics and melancholy render the standard laws of rock invalid. Vladimir taunt the listener with slow pieces only to surprise them with sudden full-blooded ferocity and unexpected turns; complete with trumpet.
This is their MySpace. You can download the albums for free at the official vladimir website or listen to the track Favoured

Emit

Emit is a British ambient/black noise band consisting of four members, a guitarist/vocalist, two percussionists and another vocalist. The band formed from the remnants of a short-lived black metal band of 1998 called Ante Cryst. They continued from there, playing experimental black metal/noise (black noise) and gaining some notoriety in the underground scene (as other black noise like Nebiros and Stalaggh popped up, and labels like Todestrieb and Autumn Winds began representing them). Since then, he’s toured with Bassnectar, drawn crowds at festivals like Trinumeral and Symbiosis, and closed out Sound Tribe Sector 9’s late night parties in Denver at the request of the band.

EF is a five-piece band from Gothenburg, Sweden. It all started in May 2003, and soon they stood in a small basement and created quite heavy music. During the first 3 years they recorded and released 4 CD-R demos and began playing in various locations around Sweden. In the summer of 2005 they were contacted by US label Raise The Red Flag. They decided to co-op, and a full length album was released during 2006.

Their music largely consists of beatless soundscapes, composed of droning, effects-treated guitars along with piano, strings, and horns; volume swells and feedback fill the gap of rhythmic instruments, providing dynamic movement within the songs.
