A lo-fi band from Sydney, Australia, formed in 2010. Inspired by spicy chicken burgers and Warrick Capper's flowing mullet, their sound has been described as "artfully f*cked up." Hyperbole.tv had this to say about their music: "while the bass throbs and the guitar rumbles with giddy fuzz you can’t help but nod your head like a grinning idiot." There are several bands with this name. The UK group The Smoke consisted of Mick Rowley on vocals, Mal Luker on guitar, Zeke Lund on bass and Geoff Gill on drums. Black To Comm is an alias for Dekorder label owner Marc Richter's audio excursions. Richter creates his music using scratchy shellac and vinyl records, field recordings, a so called "kitchen gamelan," and more traditional instruments like organs, guitars, pianos and mbiras. The layering and hypnotic repetition of short loops from Psychedelia, Free Jazz, Vaudeville, and various other old recordings reveals alternative melodic dimensions not apparent in the source material.
Freak folk experimental artist. Masaki Batoh (????) is the founding member, singer, and guitarist of the Japanese psychedelic super group Ghost.
Dementio13 is a Cardiff-based producer/remixer; recording solo since 1999. His music is a curious mix of Krautrock-influenced drones, experimental electro, film soundtracks, post-rock, drum n bass and psychedelia. Dementio13 often deletes his older releases which no longer 'fit' his musical vision; in his own words, "Music is temporary." His back-catalogue is always changing.
He has also been involved in collaborative projects with the international duo Cwtch, the music collective, Sal Boca and his other solo project Diebenkorn.
Even if you’re fortunate enough to have the original small-run CDR of “Armory Radio,” this double vinyl set should still be of interest as it differs substantially from the first version, with additional material and new thoughts on what went before. If, like me, you’ve enjoyed interstation sounds from shortwave radios, you’ll probably find yourself atuned to this music very quickly. To my ears and imagination, these conjunctions of voices, snatches of music and random tones and whooses conjured up exotic lands and Geoff Mullen’s music has that quality...
Camella Lobo & Juan Mendez, a.k.a. Silent Servant.
Drenched in romanticism and soaked in themes of solitude, mortality and love,
Tropic of Cancer's music forms a strangely hypnotic connection with its listener.
Camella Lobo's majestic vocals, warmly cradled by waves of ascending synths,
plangent guitar, and foreboding beats, summon the listener into a world of dark
decadence and delicate beauty.
A heavy band that hails from Orland, California. Orland has a few traveler services on I-5 at Highway 32, but not as many as Willows, Williams, or Corning. Nothing People have four records out and few 7 inch singles. But not as many records or singles as Hawkwind, The Buzzcocks or The Scientists.
