theapplesofenergy

theapplesofenergy is the one man ambient/experimental project of Steven Gribbin, from the small town of Croy in Scotland. He has released an array of eps and mini albums aswell as remixes of various bands be it big or small, and mutual friends. Most of his releases are made original even if purely due to a small difference in packaging or wording therein, and are customised personally by hand by Steven Gribbin himself. They are released freely in small numbers and often follow a theme.

Long Distance Calling

Long Distance Calling is a post rock band based in Münster, Germany. They played their first show and released their first 4 song demo EP DMNSTRTN in late September 2006. They play an instrumental rock music, based on heavy guitar riffing and shaking hands with psychedelic and calm elements. As most bands with this description tend to explore dark and depressive moods, these guys change between timid beauty and hard boiled reality in a tough play, always based on a driving rhythm section.
The demo EP DMNSTRTN became "demo of the month" in VISIONS magazine and ROCK HARD magazine.

...And The Magical 8-Ball Band

Four music-makers thrown together from the deep reaches of Parkstone (and Wimborne), bonded by their love for music and magic...and apparently 8-balls.
Upon discovering that they all played different instruments (which was handy) and that they could actually play these instruments together as one kind of melody-producing harmonic unit, forming a band seemed like a pretty nifty idea.
All they needed now was a really cool name. Alas, no plan is perfect...
