Tiki Taane

Tiki Taane, is a New Zealand based musician and former front man of leading New Zealand band Salmonella Dub. Tiki left Salmonella Dub on the 1st of January 2007 to pursue his solo career. His first album Past, Present, Future (album) was released under the name Tiki on 22 October 2007. The song Always On My Mind became the highest-selling NZ song of all time on the New Zealand charts, and the third highest selling overall.

Guernica

Here they are described in order of popularity on Last.fm. 1) Guernica (ゲルニカ), presumably named after the famous painting Guernica by Pablo Picasso, this Japanese trio from the 1980s specializes in music in a retro 1920's and 30's cabaret style. ButterClock is a young Parisian who makes some great downtempo along the lines of The XX or Bat For Lashes. It’s atmospheric and slow and very French, though according to Facebook they’re a «gathering of creatures from Nevada». ButterClock takes you off on a blurred red wine coma of journey that leaves you curled up asleep in the back of a deserted theatre, the strains of the sub base from next doors club filtering through the dusty walls.

Action Beat are an improv noise/no-wave band which is often made up of musicians who are available to play the gig on any particular date. They sound quite like early Sonic Youth, Glenn Branca, Rhys Chatham and the Boredoms. They normally have at least 4 guitarists, a bassist, a baritone and between 1 and 4 drummers and have also played with brass and string instruments in the line-up. They have a die-hard gigging ethic, playing over 90 shows across Europe in 2009. They have an American tour lined up for 2009 from the beginning of September until November.
