Jim Tomlinson

Perhaps best known for his work as the compelling counter-voice to singer and wife, Stacey Kent, Jim Tomlinson (b: 8th Sept 1966) is increasingly recognised as a distinctive saxophone voice in his own right. The release of his debut album as leader, Only Trust Your Heart (Candid 2000), was greeted with enthusiastic and universal acclaim. His follow up CD, Brazilian Sketches (2003), was named Jazz CD Of The Week by the Observer newspaper in the UK.

Cassandra Wilson

Cassandra Wilson (born 4th December 1955) is a U.S. jazz vocalist and two-time Grammy Award winner from Jackson, Mississippi. Two of her albums, Blue Skies (1988) and New Moon Daughter (1996), have topped the US jazz charts, and the latter also won her a Grammy for Best Jazz Vocal Performance in 1997. More recently, Wilson's latest album Loverly (2008) also won the Grammy for Best Jazz Vocal Album at the 51st Grammy Awards in 2009.

Thisquietarmy

Thisquietarmy is the experimental guitar-based project of Eric Quach from Montreal, Quebec, Canada - active since 2005. Revolving around improvised drone music, he takes his sonic experimentations further by adding textural and structural elements of post-punk, shoegaze, krautrock, post-rock, black metal and doom metal to them. The results can be described as dark, melodic, expansive and engaging dreamscapes. His live performances are mostly presented as a real-time score to hypnotic ethereal visuals, which he creates himself for each performance.

The Brilliant Corners

At long last a band is being recognised for the influence it has had without the commercial acclaim that some of their songs deserved.
This seminal Bristol band consisted of a nucleus of Chris Galvin (bass) and David Woodward (vocals and guitars) with Bob Morris (drums) plus various others during their ten years of existence.
Through various styles they created a unique Bristol slant on the 80's which was never deemed glamorous by the press or music gliterrati in general. Some may say that the Bristol scene was insular but it was really about being yourself and getting on with things.

Tomáš Dvořák (*78) aka Floex - clarinetist, composer, producer and multimedia artist from Prague (Czech Republic). While Tomáš solo works are released under his Floex moniker, the soundtracks are released under his own name Tomáš Dvořák. Cobblestone Jazz is Mathew Jonson on drums and SH-101 bass, programmer Tyger Dhula, and Danuel Tate on keys and vocoder, Itiswhatitis Recordings, Vibraphone Biography Cobblestone Jazz have been performing live electronic music for four years on the west coast of British Columbia. The three members of the group are programmer Tyger Dhula, keyboardists Danuel Tate and Mathew Jonson, whose recent works for Itiswhatitis, Minus and Substatic have brought him international recognition.
