There are more than one artists with this name. 1) Previously a seven part band formed in late 2008 in Edinburgh, now playing under the name New Urban Frontier. They fused Ska, Punk, Reggae, Folk, Bhangra, Klezmer, Hip-Hop, Dub, Funk and Reggae.
Jah Shaka is one of the most important roots reggae and dub artists. He's a composer, musician, singer, mixing engineer, producer, record label owner, and the operator of the heaviest roots/dub sound system in the world!
His name is an amalgamation of the rastafarian term for God and that of a zulu warrior. Jah Shaka has been operating his roots reggae soundsystem since the early 1970s. Shaka is perhaps best known for sticking to his rastafarian beliefs in the 1980s whilst other soundsystems followed the Jamaican trend towards playing "slack" dancehall music.
Andrew Pekler was born in Samarkand, Uzbekistan (then U.S.S.R.). His family immigrated to the U.S., eventually settling in Monterey, California. In the mid 90s he moved to Heidelberg, Germany to attend university. Since 2000 he has been living and working in Berlin.
Under his own name he has produced two records for the ̃scape label, Station to Station (2002) and Nocturnes, False Dawns and Breakdowns (2004) as well as releasing Strings + Feedback (2005) on Staubgold. His latest album Cue, was released in June 2007 on Kranky (Chicago, USA).
Having discovered Dubstep in 2007, DFRNT jumped at the opportunity to try his hand at production. He had worked on a number of styles in the past, all developing out of his previous production work on mashups and bootlegs. Within a few weeks, he had worked up a furious remix of Dead Prez’s “Hip Hop” and with a solid base of feedback, decided to work on a number of entirely original tracks. Lee "Scratch" Perry (born on March 20, 1936, in Kendal, Jamaica) is a reggae and dub artist, who has been highly influential in the development and acceptance of reggae and dub music in Jamaica and overseas.

Dubkasm are comprised of childhood friends Digistep and DJ Stryda, who kicked off their dub project in the mid-'90s before going on to launch their Sufferah's Choice label in 2003 in order to showcase their studio productions. Their 2009 debut album 'Transform I' was a culmination of their work so far, collecting tracks from their previous 12-inches and including vocal turns from Dub Judah, Levi Roots and Afrikan Simba. A dub version of the entire record along with a remix CD completed the Transform I Trilogy in 2010.
