In January 2000 two clever friends handed Scott Edwards a copy of buzz and a cdr full of samples. These were fused with a mind full of sounds crossing everything from Tangerine Dream to a Roots Supercharger and Avus was born. By this time Scott had already been honing his DJ talents for many years gaining a residency at London's Glasshouse, his own radio show and playing numerous sets around some of Britain's best (and indeed dodgiest) sweatpits.
As many lucky teenagers from the late 80s, Laurent Ash started as a bass player in a small High School band influenced by new-wave and pop music acts like Cabaret Voltaire, Frankie Goes To Hollywood or Simple Minds and discovered the art of sampling thru the first popular 8/16bits computers. Producing first for other artists in the early & mid 90s, he joined the parisian label 20000ST in 2001 (which was responsible for the hit single of Demon You Are My High) to release one of his first hit singles The Soul Of My Love ...

The group formed in 1976 in Queens with vocalist/keyboardist Peter Zaremba, guitarist Keith Streng, bassist Jan Marek Pukulski, and drummer Bill Milhizer and aimed to return rock and roll to the simplicity and unself-consciousness of the '50s and early-'60s. (The group was often joined on-stage and in the studio by sax player Gordon Spaeth, who passed on in 2005.

His interest in manipulating sound was unstoppable. Young Martin Landsky spent all his money to buy a second tape deck and a primitive mixer.

Quinn started his musical career as one half of drum and bass duo Turbosound, who signed to DJ SS's F Project Records label, an offshoot of Formation Records. Their name was changed for them to "International Rudeboys", which while it perhaps didn't suit them as well as they would have liked, nonetheless this brought further success on Formation Records proper.
