There has been more than one band called The Preachers, including an American band of the 60s and a Swedish garage punk band of the 80s. To compare Sydney newcomers The Preachers to any musical acts would be unfair. Not that they don
Gavin James was born in Ealing, London and now lives mostly in South Switzerland, on a Greek island or in Wales. He started learning classical guitar at the age of eleven, and used this as a basis to explore other styles of music such as folk und blues and popular songs of the day. Gavin started hitch-hiking around Europe at the age of seventeen, supporting himself by playing in bars and busking. In the ten years of his travels he gained musical and life experiences which inspired him to write songs about his life on the road.

Their last 12" single, “Follow Me” quickly caught the attention of world-class taste makers including The Juan MacLean (DFA/NYC), Bottin (Italians Do It Better/Venice), and The Outrunners (Valerie/FR), all of who gave the single remix treatments.
Named after the underground train line which caters to certain areas of East London, and originally a sextet, the main protagonists were Linton Beckles who supplied vocals and percussion, keyboardist Lipson Francis, Camelle Hinds who played bass guitar and gave the group more vocals, and Henry Defoe who played lead guitar. Eventually, additional musicians helped to fill out the mix, as Peter Hinds appeared on this group and Beggar & Co.
There are at least 6 bands with the name "Wake"*. *If you listen to the British post-punk band, the Finnish melodic death metal band, or the US goth rock band, the correct tag is The Wake. There is more than one artist with this name: 1) Alternative hip-hop group from the United States. Their first single "Hunting Man", which features/samples Disney star and indie singer-songwriter Hayley Kiyoko, was released on Tuesday, April 10, 2012. Their debut mixtape, "The Cloud Story", is set to be released in Summer 2012. This is the only Glory to give a fuck about. 2) Hardrock band from sweden, popular in the late 80s and early 90s.
This is a band that has set out to continue the legacy of the big names of rock'n'roll - Johnny Cash, the Cramps, Elvis, Bo Diddley, Hasil Adkins - setting to music stories of damned souls. Though not known for being an exciting country, they are indeed from Belgium, and they do indeed manage to whip up an atmosphere of wild debauchery at all their gigs. Their performances are hot and spicy, frequently involving nudity, alongside their stomping bluesy rock'n'roll tunes. You'll drink up their sound and the atmosphere to the last drop.
