New Politics: David and Soren had been writing songs together for over three years (for respective solo albums that have yet to see the light of day) when they realized that they had unintentionally started a band. The pair had experimented with every imaginable style of music (every imaginable style) and suddenly recognized that the combination of their musical sensibilities, as witnessed on the 300 songs theyd penned together, created something new and interesting.

Edwards decided to shorten her name to Skye by taking the first letter of each of her names (Shirley Klarisse Yonavive) and putting them together. She has also sung on two charity collaborations, Perfect Day 1997, in aid of BBC Children in Need and Band Aid 20, in 2004, in aid of famine relief in Sudan, Africa. Born 1968 outside Gothenburg on the Swedish west coast. Parents of Russian and Polish origin. Started taking trumpet classes in public music school at the age of 10, playing in various youth orchestras throughout the school years. This gradually gave way to less formal musical experiments as synthesizers started to become accessible. During and after the mid-teen years came the first attempts at forming bands and recording music with younger brother among others. Started singing for lack of other volunteers. Demos and some scattered gigs amounting to nothing substantial.

Charlyn Marie Marshall, also known as Chan (pronounced "Shawn") Marshall, was born in Atlanta, Georgia, U.S. on 21 January 1972. After dropping out of high school, she started performing under the name Cat Power, while in Atlanta, backed by musicians Glen Thrasher, Mark Moore, and others. She soon moved to New York City, United States in 1992, then later opening for Liz Phair in 1994, she met Steve Shelley of Sonic Youth and Tim Foljahn of Two Dollar Guitar, who encouraged her to record, and played on her first two albums, 1995's Dear Sir and 1996's Myra Lee.

Jude Johnstone

Jude Johnstone (born in Bar Harbor, Maine) is an American singer-songwriter. Her songs have been covered by a number of artists, including Emmylou Harris, Bonnie Raitt, Bette Midler, Johnny Cash, and Stevie Nicks. Johnstone wrote the #1 song "The Woman Before Me" on Trisha Yearwood's debut CD. In 2002, having enjoyed songwriting for some years, Johnstone and longtime manager Bob Burton decided to release her own debut CD "Coming of Age" on BoJak Records. The album received critical acclaim. Since then she has released On a Good Day (2005), Blue Light (2007), Mr. Sun (2008), Quiet Girl (2011).
