Kacey Johansing

Kacey Johansing's debut album, Many Seasons, plays like a travelogue. Sweeping the listener along from her roots in small town Colorado to Boston to a San Francisco, where Johansing is at something of an epicenter for a rapidly evolving songwriting scene, the album crystallizes a rich Bay Area indie-folk sound bursting at the seams with creativity. Although Many Seasons is a solo album, the guitarist and singer's penchant for collaboration shines through. A member of the bands Honey.Moon.Tree and Honeycomb, Johansing also counts Matt Adams' band The Blank Tapes as frequent collaborators.

The Sheilas

The Sheilas are Cathi, Emma and Carly. They first caught the attention of the British public in 2006 with adverts for the 'Sheilas Wheels' insurance firm. Little did they know, but in the background, their pink and polished performances were to catch the attention of one of the most successful songwriting and production outfits ever - Stock Aitken Waterman - who were in the process of reuniting after fifteen years or so apart.

Prototypes

The Prototypes are a French band formed in Paris, in 2003 when Stéphane Bodin and François Marché of Bosco collaborated with singer & performer Bubble Star (Isabel Le Doussal). Their hybrid style draws from many influences including folk, 1960s pop, and alternative Indie rock, but their signature sound is dominated by sequencers, synthesizers and risqué vocals often reminiscent of 1970s punk. Garbage

Garbage is a Scottish-American alternative rock band formed in 1994 at Madison, Wisconsin, USA. The group members are Shirley Manson (vocals, guitars), Steve Marker (guitars, keyboards), Duke Erikson (guitars, keyboards, bass), and Butch Vig (drums, percussion). Cibo Matto

Cibo Matto is a New York City-based band formed by two Japanese women, Miho Hatori and Yuka Honda in 1994. Despite being based in the US rather than Japan, they have strong links with the shibuya-kei scene in their use of sampling and mixture of trip-hop and rock, but stand out amongst other such artist for their particularly strong use of Latin and South American music. Cibo Matto is an Italian phrase that means "crazy food".
