Cortex

Four (or more) artists have gone by the name Cortex: a French jazz-funk group from the 70s, a Swedish punk band, a Spanish metalcore band and a experimental Belgian project by Alain Neffe. 1. A French jazz funk group from the seventies.
Key members were Alain Mion (Piano) and Alain Gandolfi (drums, percussion). Cortex recorded several albums and singles for the Sonodisc label. 2 albums got re-issued: 'Troupeau Bleu' (on 'Dare-Dare') and 'Volume 2' (on 'Follow Me'). 2. A Swedish punk or post-punk band from Gothenburg.

ROVO

Rovo is a psychedelic rock-jazz band founded in 1996 in Tokyo by former Boredoms guitarist Seiichi Yamamoto (山本精一), electric violinist Yuji Katsui (勝井祐二), and synthesizer/effects technician Tatsuki Masuko (益子樹), with Jin Harada (原田仁) on bass guitar, Hiroshi Nakanishi (中西宏司) on synths, and featuring two drummers/percussionists, the prolific Yasuhiro Yoshigaki (芳垣安洋) (of legendary improv noise group Ground-Zero) and Yoichi Okabe (岡部洋一).

The Black Sea

The Black Sea was formed from the ashes of Frodus in 2002 when Frodus's Shelby Cinca and Jason Hamacher decided to continue playing together. At the time they recruited Fugazi bassist Joe Lally to play bass. At the time they weren't sure on if the musical endeavor would go beyond just playing music. In February 2002, Hamacher left for a 3 month excursion to Eastern Europe and Turkey after recording drum tracks for the pair.

Secrets for September are a new band from Exeter England. The bands musical style is a fusion Of Space Rock, dub and Guitar based rock music for fans of Pink Floyd, The Orb and Ozric Tentacles with folk influences of All About Eve and the theatre of Kate Bush . Matthew North is the bands Guitarist, vocalist and main music composter, Marina O'Shea is the vocalist and lyricist, Mike Soundy is the Drummer and Dave Holwill is the Bass Guitarist. Secrets for September also have several guest musicians on recordings including Roger O’Donnell (Formally of The Cure) on Moog Synthesizers.

The Deviants

The Deviants (formerly the Social Deviants) were a musical group in the United Kingdom. Out of the Ladbroke Grove UK Underground Community, a number of bands would emerge. Perhaps the most anarchistic band of the Underground was the Deviants founded and fronted by singer/writer Mick Farren, the Social Deviants, later just the Deviants, made three bizarre albums in two years. Mick Farren states that The Deviants were a community band which "did things every now and then - it was a total assault thing with a great deal of inter-relation and interdependence".

Akasha

At least five bands have used the name "Akasha." The first was a Norwegian spacey, electronic prog band, who recorded one album in 1977. For more information on the band, visit progarchives.com. The second Akasha is a Swedish group consisting of five women. The group was inspired by Sri Chinmoy's poetry and songs, and started to sing and play together in 1982. Since then the group has been giving concerts in Sweden regularly and has also been on tours in Finland, France, Austria, Switzerland and Germany.
