Chris and Thomas

Chris and Thomas are a duo comprising an American and a German who met in Liverpool and now live and work in Los Angeles. Their music is described as like Simon and Garfunkel - but that is really because there is nothing to compare them with. The sound and the phrasing of Chris and Thomas is unique - and very polished indeed. Chris and Thomas released their first album "Land of Sea" in the UK in 2006 - touring the UK Festivals to great aclaim and stunning audiences wherever they went.

Otep

Otep is a band formed in 2000 in Los Angeles, California by Otep Shamaya. The band originally formed as a four-piece band and were invited to play Ozzfest before they had even signed to a label after Sharon Osbourne witnessed a brief part of their live performance. They've since played Ozzfest several times. Otep have since released five full-length albums featuring many session musicians including Greg Wells, Joey Jordison of Slipknot, Koichi Fukuda of Static-X, Emilie Autumn, Tony Campos of Soulfly and Asesino (ex-Static-X), and Ulrich Wild.

Downset

Founded in Los Angeles in the late 80's as part of the thriving scene, downset has evolved into an icon of sorts. As the original blenders of , , , , , and socially aware lyrics, they drew influences from Black Flag to Black Sabbath, Public Enemy to Bob Marley. Becoming a huge draw, the industry took notice and they caught the attention of Mercury/PolyGram Records and released their self titled debut in 1994.

There are at least two artists with this name. 1) M.E.D. aka Medaphoar is a MC who has recorded with Madlib, Wildchild, and Oh No. M.E.D's debut album was released on Stones Throw Records in 2005. Entitled Push Comes To Shove, the album features production from Madlib, J Dilla, Oh No (Madlib's younger brother), and Just Blaze. A CD entitled "Bang Ya Head" was released during Stones Throw's 2005 Tour and features M.E.D (known as Medaphoar) guest spots from 1998 to 2005.
M.E.D. made a dis track toward Canibus called "Lightwork."

(1) A German Rock band which formed in 2002, playing straight-forward guitar rock. They split up again in 2005, having recorded a single EP named "anna".
The members were Tommy Schulte-Wissermann (lead vocals and second guitar), Ulle Wolf (guitar), André Hoffend (drums) and Chris Wolff (bass).
Ulle and Chris are now playing in a band named "Garage Band" (see http://www.garage-band.de/).

Canned Heat

Canned Heat is a blues-rock/boogie band that formed in Los Angeles in 1965. The group has been noted for its own interpretations of blues material as well as for efforts to promote the interest in this type of music and its original artists. It was launched by two blues enthusiasts, Alan Wilson (1943 – 1970) and Bob Hite (1943 – 1981), who took the name from Tommy Johnson's 1928 Canned Heat Blues, a song about an alcoholic who has desperately turned to drinking Sterno, generically called "canned heat".
