Master

Master is the most well-known project of bassist, vocalist, and songwriter Paul Speckmann. They were well known in the early extreme metal underground, being both one of the first death metal bands, and one of the most influential alongside Death in the emerging death metal scene. The band began in 1983, and still exists today, having released several albums with many different lineups. Paul Speckmann started out as bass player in doom band War Cry, where he met up with drummer Bill Schmidt who was drafted in to replace previous War Cry drummer, Joe Laccino.

There are two bands sharing this name: 1. A from Jogjakarta, Indonesia. Formed in the middle 1995, Death Vomit wrote their own Death Metal materials. After a few demos, vomiting the debut album 'Eternally Deprecated' (1999). This album was self released (Demented Mind Records) and succesfully crushed Indonesian Death Metal scene.
Re-released in 2002 under licensed by Extreme Souls Production and more spread the hatred all around Indonesia.

The role of bassist officially changed two times and was helmed primarily by Soto who joined the band early on and stayed until his departure in December 2004. Their catalogue of works consists of only a few proper albums, several mini albums and maxi singles.
