Backwater

There are at least 3 bands with the name Backwater: (1) Backwater (Germany) Thrash Metal band formed in 1981 who released two full-length albums: "Revelation" (1984) and "Final Strike" (1986). Changed name to Tai Pan, releasing "Slow Death" (1995), and then changed their name again to X-Ray, under which they released "Dehumanized" (1996).

There are mutiple artists with this name:
1) Grinder was a late 80's/early 90's speed metal/thrash metal band from Germany. They released three full length albums and one EP before disbanding. Grinder were the first international heavy metal act to play in Turkey, on May 12, 1990 at the Open Air Theater in Istanbul. Adrian Hahn - vocals (plus bass on 1st 3 albums)

followed by Living In The Night in 1997.
All of theses hits entered the Top 20 in Spain and Italy.

Exumer

Exumer is an early German thrash metal band with close ties to Angel Dust In 1985, vocalist and bass player, Mem V. Stein decided to form a thrash metal band that embraced the sounds of all his favorite bands from the thrash metal genre at the time.
He met guitarist Ray Mensch at a Slayer show and they started writing music together. Shortly after, they were joined by Syke Bornetto on drums and Bernie Siedler as a second guitarist and EXUMER was born.

Cripper

Cripper is a German thrash metal band formed in 2005. In 2006 they released the demo album Killer Escort Service which can be downloaded for free from their homepage. In 2007 their first full length album Freak Inside was released. Then came the album Devil Reveals released in 2009. In 2012 the album Antagonist was released.

Necronomicon

1) Necronomicon were formed in 1971 in Aachen, the Western part of Germany near the Belgium and Netherlands border. With an album title (Tips zum Selbtsmord) that means "How to Commit Suicide," Necronomicon's one album, from 1972, featured bleak progressive garage rock with long instrumental passages. With wailing acid guitar solos, dark organ swirls, and angst-ridden singing in German, Necronomicon has created a dark and powerful vision that blends psychedelic and progressive music with a proto-punk garage band sensibility.

There are several different bands with this name. 1.) Toxic Shock is a thrash metal/speed metal band from Eislingen, Germany. Formed in 1986, they released two demo tapes and three full-lenght albums. "Change From Reality" in 1988, "Welcome Home... Near Dark" in 1990 and "Between Good and Evil" in 1992. 2.)
