Fauns
A band founded in Berlin in the mid-nineties playing a mixture of folk rock and prog rock. Part of their lyrics are inspired by J.R.R. Tolkien. After several demos they released their first full-length album "LeafFall" in 2007. The second album "Awaiting the Sun" was released on Firefield/EMG April 1, 2011. The current line-up consists of the brothers Jan-Peer, Nils and Falk Hartmann on vocals and guitars, drums and bass, respectively, of Kirsten Middeke (viola, flute and vocals) and Jan Hecker-Stampehl on keyboards. Carach Angren
Carach Angren is a symphonic black metal band from the Netherlands, formed by two members of Vaultage. Their style is characterised by prominent use of orchestral arrangements. All of their studio albums are concept albums with lyrics based on famous ghost stories, such as the Flying Dutchman. The name means "Iron Jaws" in the language of Sindarin, and is the name of a fortified pass into North-Western Mordor in J. R. R. Tolkien's The Lord of the Rings.
Maelstrom (Metal)
Maelstrom is a 5-piece metal band based in Glasgow. Their debut album "The Shores At Dawn" was released in 2008. Based on Tolkien mythologies, Maelstrom's music is a cacophony of dark melodies; combining traditional Black and Doom metal influences with melodic and progressive styles.
Warhammer
More than one artist shares this name. 1) Warhammer is a German thrash metal/death metal band heavily influenced by Hellhammer. 2) Warhammer was a British death metal band from Shropshire in England formed by Shane Embury and Mitch Harris in the early 1980's. After the band split up in 1986 the duo went on to form Unseen Terror and later join grindcore pioneers Napalm Death. 3) Russian metal band.
