Wet Wings are Lucy and Darian. They are from New Zealand and make music that is consoling, uneasy, weird, familiar, harmonic, dissonant, soporific, hyperventilating and {other adjectives}.
Na first formed in Seattle in the early 21st Century, with all three members of the musical project arriving from Japan and taking classes at Shoreline Community College. After moving past perfunctory discussions of pink shoes and John Cage, they began to collaborate on what is usually termed "experimental music." The band met touring with previous musical outfits on the hardcore and noise circuit. Having trawled Europe’s countless venues these projects came to what can only now be described as an inevitable end. Spurred on by a mutual disdain for an increasingly shallow medium, the band began writing together in 2007. Wistfully uniting dark melodies, poetic lyrics and group harmonies the band produce an intense and broody brand of pop which reflects their current musical standpoint as well as their vision for the future.
