Neon Neon

Neon Neon is a collaboration between the artists Boom Bip and Gruff Rhys. They first worked together on Boom Bip's Blue Eyed in the Red Room album, released in 2005. Their debut album, Stainless Style was released on March 18th, 2008 through Lex Records. Their first single Trick for Treat is also out, and can be heard on their myspace page. The album "Stainless Style" was nominated for the 2008 Mercury Prize.

Silver Gospel Runners

Silver Gospel Runners are an ever expanding group of Cardiff musicians playing vaguely eccentric, whimsical indie pop. They are definitely not a defunct 18th century message carrying service for monks studying ancient ecclesiastical texts. They write songs about lighthouses, toy robots, waterborne diseases the flora and fauna of the southern hemisphere, dinosaurs, casinos and compass points. They play all their own notes and sing all their own words except when they borrow them.

Sweet Baboo a.k.a Stephen Black formulated in the hills of North Wales some 10 or 11 years ago, initially as a way to impress girls and to waste Sundays. Locked inside his parents’ loft he would noodle and tinkle with his Casio keyboard, a 10 pound Tandy microphone, a little four track recorder and his father’s guitar. Julia Harris

Julia Harris was born in Cardiff but spent the first few years of her life in Cape Town, South Africa whale watching and riding on the cable car up to Table Mountain. Life growing up in South Wales was full of adventure too, camping, singing around bonfires, mud sliding down hills in the country and putting on talent shows for the local kids in the street. At 7 Julia was given a Casio VL-1 Keyboard from Santa and started playing along to her parents record collection. Zeppelin, Floyd, Squeeze, Paul Simon and Motown classics made a big impact on her.

Winter and Williams Band are an acoustic band hailing from Cardiff Wales integral to the blossoming Cardiff Acoustic scene. The band’s stylistic influences reveals a mix of alt rock, R&B, funk, jazz, soul, folk, and reggae. 2003. P. Winter toiled around the city at open mic nights at the forefront of a new fresh acoustic scene. This time also impressioned by DJs resident at the Toucan; their excellent use of soul,funk,hip-hop beats and of the House party DJs from Traffic the Dance Appreciation Society and the buzzing bands at Uncle Midriff's jazz society.

Steve’s dreams were realised in April 2007 when he met Woody Allen in the Carlyle, New York.
