Drop

There are several artists named Drop: 1. Drop: Russ Stevens (vocals); Patrick Davey, Jimmy Haboush (guitar); Andy Smith (bass guitar); Jamie Little (drums). Evolution. Survival of the fittest. Call it what you will, but there are often concrete reasons why some bands make it and some bands don’t. The best rock bands make memorable, compelling music, put on live shows that leave their fans speechless, and handle their business like it matters. Chicago’s DROP is one of those bands.

Cone

CONE was founded by the Dutch Hermann Blaupunkt, guitarplayer in Het Droste Effect, former guitar player for stoner rock outfit Lupu Negru and owner of Studio Casa Cassette. The guitar and other string instruments will always be important in CONE output. Freaky folk parts blend with field recordings suddenly ripped apart by a fuzzy guitarsolo or a subtle noise passage. Apart from the guitars, there’s toy instruments, voices, effect boxes, organs, field recordings from all over the globe and other stuff.

Take

(For the Korean boy band, see 테이크.) There is more than one artist under this name: 1. Based in Los Angeles, Take (Sweatson Klank) is a composer who continues to push the boundaries of instrumental hip-hop music into new directions. After multiple successful EP's under his belt, Take finally unleashed his debut full length player in 2007, Earthtones and Concrete. This music is nothing short of an epic journey with continuously evolving collages that lead the listener down a dust covered road of bit-crushed melodies and molested jazz samples.
