1. Denise Katrina Matthews (born January 4, 1959), better known as Vanity but sometimes credited as Denise Matthews-Smith or D.D. Winters, is a Canadian-born singer, songwriter, dancer, actress, model, and full-time preacher. She was the lead singer for the Prince-mentored female trio Vanity 6, which recorded the 1982 R&B hit "Nasty Girl". Matthews formally gave up her stage name "Vanity" and became a born-again Christian in 1994, the year she almost died from the effects of snorting cocaine.

Mary Black

Mary Black is an Irish singer. She was born on 23rd May 1955, in Dublin, to a musical family. Her father had been a fiddler, her mother a singer, and her brothers have their own group. She sang in her family's group in her youth. She went on to play in other groups including the traditional Irish band De Dannan from 1984-1986. After 1986 she had a successful solo career where she went on to try contemporary styles ranging from jazz to country. She was named "Best Female Artist" in the IRMA poll in 1987, 1988, 1992, 1994 and 1996.

A Fine Frenzy is the music of 25 year-old Alison Sudol. She released her first studio album One Cell In The Sea on July 17, 2007. Dayna Kurtz is an American female singer/songwriter who is reknown for her warm and dark voice. She writes about love but also makes political statements (f.e. in "The Day of Atonement, 2001" of her latest record Another Black Feather). So far she made three records. The debut album Postcards From Downtown (2002) is considered a classic record in the singer/songwriter genre. Xiu

Xiu is a recent project based in Milan and formed by Oksana (Xiu). Oksana was born in Estonia, studied academic music in Russia. Academic knowledges had a deep impact in the creative process of her musical entity. During several years she also sang in the church's choir which is undoubtedly had influenced her work.
