The group was created by producer Frank Farian in 1975 and was composed of four West Indian artists working in London, Germany and the Netherlands: singers Marcia Barrett and Liz Mitchell, model Maizie Williams and DJ Bobby Farrell. Boney M is noted for the mix of white and black music—the producer Farian is white and the singers are black; significantly many songs are black (freedom) songs, for example “No More Chain Gang” in the album Oceans Of Fantasy.
Born Montgomery Bernard Alexander on June 6, 1944 in Kingston, Jamaica, Monty Alexander is a jazz pianist whose style is influenced by strong Caribbean and swing feeling. A musician of a great versatility, this piano virtuoso has covered wide range of musical genres in his career from jazz to reggae, playing with either small bands or an orchestra. "My goal is to uplift", says Alexander. “The piano, to me, is a vehicle for connecting to other human beings. I'm very open to all forms of music. I'm not a bebop musician, I'm not a calypso musician, I'm not a reggae musician.

Verses has dropped a CD for the listener, by a listener. Throughout Listening Session you can hear the influences that classic hip hop had on Verses.
The Blackbyrds was a rhythm and blues and jazz-funk fusion group, formed in Washington, D.C. in 1973. The group was led by trumpeter Donald Byrd and featured some of his Howard University students: Kevin Toney (keyboards), Keith Killgo (vocals, drums), Joe Hall (bass guitar), Allan Barnes (saxophone, clarinet), and Barney Perry (guitar). Orville Saunders (guitar), and Jay Jones (flute, saxophone) were later members of the group. They signed to Fantasy Records in 1973. They are best known for their 1975 hit "Walking in Rhythm", which received a Grammy nomination.

Beginning his musical career in the Swing Era along with Harry James and Tommy Dorsey, Sinatra became a highly successful solo artist, releasing 59 studio albums and becoming the idol of the 'bobby soxers'.
Todd Bodine was born in 1976 and grew up in Berlin. In 1997 he started out as a resident DJ at Tresor club, where he played his energetic Detroit-sets over the next few years. In 1999 he released his first record together with Daniel Paul and DJ Zky on Season records.
In the same year he also renovated his own studio, where he produced his own first solo-house-project, which was released on Cabinet records

Fit and the Conniptions is a combined band / webcomic project by London, UK based singer songwriter Wayne Myers. New comics have been uploaded to the site at conniptions.org more or less three times a week since January 2006. A studio album, Bless Your Heart was released in July 2007, followed by a live acoustic EP, Live At Monkey Chews in November 2008. Both are available online from CDBaby.
