The Standells

The Standells were a 1960s rock and roll band from Los Angeles, California who, like The Seeds, exemplified the style. The band was formed in 1962 by lead singer/organist Larry Tamblyn and guitarist Tony Valentino. The Standells' first hit single was Dirty Water, which reached #11 on the Billboard charts on June 11, 1966. Multiple urban myths exist about the origins of "Dirty Water", which has become a Boston radio staple.

Biography
Altercation started out with original members Ralph Lee, Will Ottone, and Joey Atiya when all 3 were in still high school. Altercation changed lineups several times until late 2009 when they linked up with drummer Kori Harvey and his brother (synthesizer) Joe Yopp.

As Cities Burn

As Cities Burn was a (earlier material), (midway) and (later) band from Mandeville, LA that formed in 2002. As an unsigned act, the group accomplished impressive success touring and selling thousands of copies of their two EPs. Their success drew the attention of Solid State Records, who signed them in 2004. ACB released its first full length album, Son, I Loved You At Your Darkest, on June 21 of 2005, and was featured in Solid State's Young Bloods Tour with The Chariot, Showbread, and He Is Legend.

Comets On Fire

Comets on Fire are a band from Santa Cruz, California. The band was formed in 1999 by guitarist and vocalist Ethan Miller and longtime friend bassist Ben Flashman, who were seeking to create rhythmically and sonically intense music that paid no attention to categorizations. The band's self-titled debut was released in 2001 and eventually issued on the Alternative Tentacles label. Recorded on a four-track, it was a garage/psych freakout of intense if not epic proportions.

Swingin' Utters

Swingin' Utters is an American punk rock band that formed in the late 1980s. Having begun in Santa Cruz, California, the band moved to San Francisco where they are now based. They have been signed to Fat Wreck Chords since 1996. As well as being classed as a "punk revival" band (reminiscent of British 1970s bands such as Stiff Little Fingers, The Damned, Sham 69 and Eddie & The Hot Rods), Swingin' Utters have increasingly shown themselves to be influenced by Irish folk, particularly The Pogues.

Rain Machine is the sideproject of Kyp Malone, guitarist and vocalist of TV on the Radio and Iran. On a press release Malone explained: "I've been writing and recording songs alone since I moved to NYC in 2000, at first alone because I didn't know anyone, then through the years by choice because of a particular freedom that going it alone afforded. I've played regularly since then, at first under the name Black Lights until some kids in Texas told me they were already using that name.

Affiance, meaning to betroth in trust and confidence, is a 5 piece band from Cleveland, Ohio. They formed around 2008. Their lyrics touch on deep political and religious themes and the band wrapped up a recent full US tour with their friends in Across The Sun and No Bragging Rights and gained tons of new fans in the process.
