Formed around 1990 in Los Angeles, California, United States, by drummer Danny Carey, guitarist Adam Jones, vocalist Maynard James Keenan, and original bassist Paul d'Amour, Tool is a band that is most noted for combining alternative metal with a wide variety of progressive structures, irregular time signatures and lyrics that range from angry diatribes to meditations on philosophical and social matters.
There are a few artists with this name. 1) In Vain is a progressive death metal band from Kristiansand, Norway. Formed by three young music enthusiasts back in 2003, the band has already released two highly critically acclaimed self financed EP’s; Will the Sun Ever Rise and Wounds. Will the Sun Ever Rise(2004), a three-track EP of unrelenting atmosphere, aggression and complexity. The EP was embraced by metal heads and journalists alike.

Seventh Harmonic are an all-female neo-classical ensemble formed in London, UK in Autumn 1999 by multi-instrumentalist Caroline Jago, creating sensual euphoric dreamscapes which draw on a great diversity of influences. Anne-Marie Hurst was the lead vocalist for the groups The Elements, Skeletal Family, and Ghost Dance. She was the lead vocalist of Elements until 1982. In December 1982, she helped form Skeletal Family. After departing from Skeletal Family in 1985, she eventually co-founded Ghost Dance with Gary Marx (formerly of The Sisters of Mercy) in 1985
Awake By Design are a gothic metal/rock band formed in the South West, UK in late November 2007. Abd was formed by Adrian Powell (vocals,) and Toby Stewart (Guitar) with the idea of creating a unique band that offers catchy vocal and guitar melodies as well as having Classical, Synthpop and 80's Rock elements to their music.
