Siiiii

Siiiii were born in early 1983 when singer Paul, then only 19, moved from his native East Anglia to Sheffield purely to be in the band, joining guitarist Mark, and bassist Ange. Taking their name from William Burroughs' "The Soft Machine" they gigged extensively during the early to mid 1980's and possibly hold the record for the amount of times they were nearly signed to record labels. Siiiii disbanded in 1986 and the members went their separate ways. Mark went on to play with the Anti-Group and Paul became involved in The Niceville Tampa (now Niceville) and then DVO in South Wales.

Vex

There are eight artists by the name of Vex. 1) Vex hailed from South East London / north west kent area and formed in the very early eighties, the 'Sanctuary' 12" and 'It's no crime' on the Mortarhate compalation 'Who?What? Why?When?Where?' were their only releases.
Sanctuary was issued on Fight Back, a sublabel of Mortarhate, run by the people of Conflict. Vex also played gigs with Conflict, so they were more associated with the anarchist punk scene than the Batcave fair. But contrary to most anarcho-punk bands from that time, they were not influenced by CRASS or Conflict.

Sex Gang Children

Sex Gang Children is an early group that formed in the early 1980s in Britain. They were a very dramatic band, relying on heavy bass, tribal drumming, sudden mood shifts, a woozy cabaret ready sound that influenced the rise of the later scene, and yet another in a long line of goth singers with an odd, highly dramatic voice. Although the group only released one official album, their singles and various other tracks have been packaged into numerous collections, and they remain one of the better known bands out of the early scene.
