Cadence Weapon

Cadence Weapon continues to firmly establish his legacy as a sonic pioneer while constantly pushing the rap and electronic music envelope. Following his critically-acclaimed, Polaris Music Prize nominated albums Breaking Kayfabe and Afterparty Babies and a two year term as Edmonton’s Poet Laureate, he returns with his new album Hope In Dirt City this Spring. A clearly defined and emotionally mature statement of intent, Hope In Dirt City represents the culmination of these experiences.

Starving Weirdos

Starving Weirdos are from northern California's lost coast, a sleepy hamlet surrounded by five hours of wilderness in all directions. They are a wild and desperate style music band. They dig on the quiet and natural beauty that defines their environs and try to carry the same spirit of dignity mixed with brute force and docile felicity as it appears to them daily. No discord and no harmony.

Guapo

ANCIENT HISTORY: Three years have passed since “Black Oni” (Ipecac Records). Four years since “Five Suns”(Cuneiform Records). The new album by Guapo is finally here and thus concludes the recondite triptych they set out to accomplish. Flux is not uncommon here, every record taking on new musical hues and offering disparate ideas and perspectives. However an upheaval in the line-up, which of recent years has been anchored by the trio of Daniel O’Sullivan, Matthew Thompson and David Smith, triggered a change in course when Thompson left the band just prior to the release of Black Oni in 2005.

Tortuga

Having risen from the ashes of the highly underrated November Coming Fire, Tortuga offer a violent & moody landslide of fast-paced, aggressive post-hardcore, noise and doom. Taking influences from bands such as Breather Resist, Black Sabbath & Queens Of The Stone Age, Tortuga have a feast of riff-tastically heavy and chaotic doom-laden songs for even the most cynical listener to sink their teeth into.
