-"One of the best albums of the year. The Forms, with their stunning debut effort, Icarus, are one of the most exciting, in not one of the best, new acts in indie rock right now. It is unbelievable how many musical ideas they get across." -Popmatters

Scottish Fiddle Orchestra

The Scottish Fiddle Orchestra is one of Scotland’s foremost traditional music organisations. The Orchestra was formed in 1980, deriving its origins from Fiddlers’ Rallies which were – and are – held throughout Scotland. After one of these Rallies, a group of enthusiasts met to consider the formation of an orchestra which would draw its members from “a’ the airts” and would form a cohesive, vigorously rehearsed group of musicians.

Dismal

There is more than one artist with this name: 1) Italian Gothic Metal band. The jewel DISMAL was created back in June 1995, nearby Turin, when Bradac and Parsifal joined to the call of the Earth, gradually becoming one thing with it while cultivating in an inseparable way their art and spirit. The passion and the big efforts result in a new decadent artistic experience, deeply rooted in both medieval and classic music, which soon becomes the fruit of both the visions and the sensations of their sublimation.

Peter Doherty

Peter Doherty is a UK singer-songwriter, currently fronting his band Babyshambles. Doherty first became known as co-frontman of The Libertines. Although The Libertines exciting but short-lived existence lasted no more than two albums, the band left a lasting legacy on the current music scene, attracting a loyal fanbase with their 'band of the people' ethos and catchy songs. Doherty left The Libertines after continuously failing to honor his band's commitments, and because of the deteriorating relationship between him and Carl Barât; although the exact story behind this remains debatable.

Custard

1. Custard were a masterful band of pop craftsmen with an uncanny grasp of the two-minute-something single who seemed to have equal amounts of Devo, Pavement and, oddly, disco in their genetic makeup. They were also blessed with singer Dave McCormack, whose voice was innocent and boyish-sounding enough to get away with things that might ordinarily cause a fuss – from songs about speed labs to geeky dedications to Jim Henson and an infamous declaration that “music is crap”.

Manic

Ryan Green - drums Paul Gross - vocals/keyboards Zane Smythe - guitars/keyboards Nate Perry - bass/backup vocals Believe it or not, Manic didn’t want to get signed to Suretone, the new label of ex-Geffen president Jordan Schur. Not because they had something against them but they didn’t want their creativity stifled by a corporation. This band, who crafts lush, layered pop rock, wanted to do things on their terms and to be the masters of their own destiny.
