The Wailingest Cats

"The Wailingest Cats live in the rising smoke from a cigarette parked under the rods of a Selmer Mark IV during a saxophone solo. They ride a fingersnap on the offbeat. They clap only in triplets. They have a great ear and a great eye and a greater instinct. They have an understated state of grace that doesn’t necessarily wish the world well. They’re here to gas the populace, Jack." From out of nowhere and everywhere comes a very cinematic shake down of rockin' ramshackle, doom-jazz hell-bebop. Hard, angular guitars, hip rhythms, crushing keys and sax are deployed with beautific decorum.

Spaceheads

UK duo Spaceheads have released 7 albums on such labels as Merge, BiP_HOp, Pandemonium Rdz. Andy Diagram (trumpet) and Richard Harrison (drums), take their unique sound, based on live trumpet loops, drums and electronics, to greater sonic extremes.
Lazy grooves and thick harmonised trumpet chords; sleazy deep beat brass and crushed up metallic drumbeats. Spaceheads mix the raw emotional sound of breath with the banging of wood on skin, and push it through the blips, crackle and distortion of pixelated electronic noise.

A Lafayette High School alum, Duncan first gained attention with the now-defunct Parlour Boys, one of Lexington’s strongest indie bands in decades. A pianist and vocalist who also plays bass, guitar and a number of other instruments, Duncan is also a member of the band Englishman, a project of Andrew English.

Delta Spirit

Delta Spirit is a band from San Diego, California. Often dubbed as a “hybrid of rock and northern soul” or as an "Americana/soul" group, the band has gathered a considerable underground following despite never being signed to a major label. The group is revered for energetic performances and live incorporation of unconventional instruments (such as trash cans lids and orchestral bass drums), the multi-instrumentalism of the members and the intense, emotional vocal delivery and religiously/spiritually-themed lyrcis of singer Matt Vasquez.

The Rialto Burns

During the Toxteth riots of 1981, the burning down of the Rialto ballrooms made newspaper headlines. This destruction of a local hive for entertainment, artistry and community gave rise to the alarming yet explosive newspaper headline The Rialto Burns. Now, almost 30 years later it is with the sentiments of this iconic building that Liverpool’s latest and most innovative sound has evolved. The Rialto Burns are the five strong Adam (vocals), Pottsy (bass), Alex and Cogsy (guitars) and Dan (drums).
