London based producer Sick Rebel co-founded Blood Tribe Records in late 2007. His roots in electro/breaks form the backbone of this psychedelic infused dubstep output. Maschine are a young English progressive rock band formed by Luke Machin at Brighton Institute of Modern Music in 2008 and are signed to the German progressive rock label Inside Out. Machin (who's surname the band is a version of) has worked and shared stages with, Francis Dunnery, Robert Plant, Bernie Marsden and Jeff Beck; plus he and bassist Daniel Mashal are both former members of The Tangent. The Presets are Julian Hamilton (keyboard and vocals) and Kim Moyes (drums and keyboard). They are an electronic two piece from Sydney, Australia who met when they were both members of Prop. Hamilton and Moyes broke off from Prop in 2003, when they remixed a track, "Magnetic Highway", with "harder electronic edges" under the name The Presets. The Presets have been one of the biggest indie bands for the past few years in Australia, touring with and supporting many well known bands such as Daft Punk, 2 Many DJ's and Ladytron.
1. Light Year was formed in 1974, when drummer Zak McGrath joined forces with his friend and colleague, pianist Cornelius Williams, with the idea of putting together a band to play new music. They recruited Randy Sellgren (Mingo Lewis-Flight Never Ending) to play guitar. John Yu, the bass player, brought Doug Johnson to play percussion (vibes, marimba, hand drums and other bells and whistles). The singer Sharon Pucci joined later to complete the ensemble.
Kids of 88 are a Psychedelic New Wave duo from Auckland, New Zealand signed to independent label Dryden Street. Formed in 2008 by friends of ten years Jordan Arts and Sam McCarthy, Kids of 88 are best known for their single My House which reached number one on the RIANZ charts. Their new single, Just A Little Bit, debuted at #13 on the chart. They released their first album entitled "Sugarpills" on August 16, 2010.
