Like a reprobate Phoenix exploding from the ashes of legendary Tasmanian band Little Ugly Girls, THE DACIOS first erupted on local stages in 2005. Their first dangerously flammable line-up boasted Linda J (Little Ugly Girls) on larynx/guitar; Bean (Little Ugly Girls, Keith’s Yard) on guitar/back-ups; and Pops on traps.

Bill Frisell was born in Baltimore, but was raised in Denver, CO. Once a classical clarinetist, he established a firm base in his traditional harmonic knowledge early on in life. Throughout high school and college he also played guitar in various rock and R&B groups in the Denver area. During high school, however, he became profoundly interested in jazz guitar. In 1971 Frisell attended Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA, and also began studying with Jim Hall, one of the prominent jazz guitarists of the 1960s.

Jim Perkins fuses traditional compositional structures with experimental instrumental and electronic timbres. He creates graphic art using his performance scores as the basis for the artwork, and applies systematic techniques to produce a visual encoding of the musical information.

Suheir Hammad was born in Amman, Jordan to Palestinian refugee parents on October 25, 1973. Suheir’s family immigrated to Brooklyn NY when Suheir was five years old, and she was raised there until the age of sixteen. Her parents moved to Staten Island while Suheir was in high school. Suheir has been able to travel throughout the world via her poetry. She has read her poems in Ivy League Universities and on Brooklyn’s street corners.
Jeff Loomis was the lead guitarist for the ground breaking metal band Nevermore. A player of many influences and styles, Loomis is often seen as one of the world's most talented and gifted metal guitarists. In 2008, he released a solo album entitled 'Zero Order Phase' (Century Media), featuring special guest appearances by fellow guitarists Ron Jarzombek and Pat O'Brien, legendary jazz bassist Michael Manring, and OFZ producer Neil Kernon.
