Andrew Pekler

Andrew Pekler was born in Samarkand, Uzbekistan (then U.S.S.R.). His family immigrated to the U.S., eventually settling in Monterey, California. In the mid 90s he moved to Heidelberg, Germany to attend university. Since 2000 he has been living and working in Berlin.

Under his own name he has produced two records for the ̃scape label, Station to Station (2002) and Nocturnes, False Dawns and Breakdowns (2004) as well as releasing Strings + Feedback (2005) on Staubgold. His latest album Cue, was released in June 2007 on Kranky (Chicago, USA).

Deadboy

There is more than one artist called "Deadboy" Based in London, Deadboy is an underground Dj and producer. His sound is part of the new "UK Funky" movement, with the goal of reviving the 2-step scene, which died out in the early 2000s. Reminiscent of the sound of 2-step UK Garage, Deadboy incorporates R&B vocals into his songs which are fresh along with elements of funky house. Absent Without Leave

Absent Without Leave is the solo project of George Mastrokostas, based in Athens, Greece.
Recording everything himself or sometimes with assistance from some good friends, he produces a sound that has at times been described as a mix of shoegaze, post-rock, ambient and electronica.

Keaver & Brause

Keaver is a veteran of the Ceder studio system, known as a sound effects man but in fact, something of an innovator in electronic music. Brause, a dozen years younger and looking like a baby, has moved from Worksop to Berlin to London to Nottingham, working as a folk singer, and session musician, and is becoming more and more interested in beat sculpting. Their debut album "The Middle Way" twists a broad spectrum of elements to create hip hop founded electronics that relish the use of hazy samples and spiraling rhythms.
