DJ Funk

What words can describe the one and only DJ Funk? Pioneer? Party Rocker? Ghetto House Icon? Let's start at the beginning, DJ Funk grew up on the musically rich West Side of Chicago where he was exposed at an early age to Chicago, New York & Detroit dance music. Developing from his early influences he started DJing out when he was just a teenager at house parties, school dances, and neighborhood clubs; selling mix tapes in the hood with his former crew "do or die" to make ends meet.

Lory D

Lorenzo D'Angelo, better known as Lory D is a name you will find missing from the list of celebrated dark techno producers, e.g. Jeff Mills, The Mover, Lenny Dee and the Aphex Twin, although his music is as essential. He is an ex-Italian D.M.C. champion who has been playing since 1989 and owns the seminal Roman techno label Sounds Never Seen. He was one of the first people to bring the Acid House and Hardcore sounds of London to Rome, where he is regarded as something of a god.

Shut Up And Dance

Shut Up And Dance - british breakbeat pioneers from scratch. Started with Hip Hop tunes and set up a soundsystem with DJ Hype but soon they integrated House and Techno influences and sped up the beats. With Reinforced SUAD could count as inventors of UK Hardcore. Early classics like Lamborghini, 10 Pounds To Get In, Greenman, The Art Of Moving Butts or the famous Raving I'm Raving saved them a place in the Hall Of Fame of UK Hardcore. After having problems with several unauthorized samples their own label "Shut Up And Dance" disappeared - but rose again from the dust in the last few years.

WOMBCORPS

How to describe wombcorps, lol. Her music is heavily influenced by a range of things, starting at the amen break to samples of nasty viral internet videos that you wish you didn't recognise but do. Wombcorps kills it when she plays live, mixing anything harder than hardstyle and darker than the darkest psy trance. Basically, raggajungle, tearout dnb, gabba, speedcore and breakcore. Production wise, the gabba kicks are fast and furious, epic melodies take you back to 1570 and theres enuff amens to fry your brain.
