Black To Comm

Black To Comm is an alias for Dekorder label owner Marc Richter's audio excursions. Richter creates his music using scratchy shellac and vinyl records, field recordings, a so called "kitchen gamelan," and more traditional instruments like organs, guitars, pianos and mbiras. The layering and hypnotic repetition of short loops from Psychedelia, Free Jazz, Vaudeville, and various other old recordings reveals alternative melodic dimensions not apparent in the source material.

TV Buddhas

TV BUDDHAS are a threeway powerhouse from Tel Aviv, Israel, comprising of brothers Uri and Mickey Triest and Juval Haring. Their raw, intense, completely involving live show in addition to their somewhat geeky and shy demeanor, brings together the simplicity of The Ramones, the explosivness of The MC5 and the anti-rock'n'roll subject matter of The Modern Lovers. While still living in their parent's house and working at a shitty record store, The BUDDHAS realised there was nothing for them in their own country.

Guapo

ANCIENT HISTORY: Three years have passed since “Black Oni” (Ipecac Records). Four years since “Five Suns”(Cuneiform Records). The new album by Guapo is finally here and thus concludes the recondite triptych they set out to accomplish. Flux is not uncommon here, every record taking on new musical hues and offering disparate ideas and perspectives. However an upheaval in the line-up, which of recent years has been anchored by the trio of Daniel O’Sullivan, Matthew Thompson and David Smith, triggered a change in course when Thompson left the band just prior to the release of Black Oni in 2005.
