Panzerbastard

There are a few reference points to consider when forming a thrashtastic D-beat band; the chief one being how much do you want to sound like Discharge, Motorhead and Extreme Noise Terror. The answer, of course, is as much as possible, and all these legendary noise exploiters are to be found splattered across the songs in this collection of EPs by Boston's brilliantly named Panzerbastard. There are also whispers of black metal and a touch of early Anthrax lurking in the d-beat mayhem.

Donnybrook

Hailing from Los Angeles, CA, Donnybrook brings an old-school, in-your-face style that has drawn comparisons to Madball, Death Threat, and District 9. With their debut four-song EP now out on 1917 Records, coupled with their plans to tour both the East and West coasts (and soon after, the world!), and you'll see why Donnybrook is poised to thrust themselves into the mix with hardcore's heaviest hitters.
