Oysterband

Oysterband (or The Oyster Band, as it used to be) are one of the few outfits still burning with the fire of punk, but managing to combine it with the ideals and knowledge of English folk music - a balancing act they've made into a fine art over the years. And they have deep roots in the U.K. folk scene, emerging from both the Whitstable Oyster Co. Ceilidh Band, which formed in 1975, and Fiddler's Dram, a group put together in 1973 by Dave Arbus, whose fiddle work had graced releases by East of Eden and The Who.

Home Service

Home Service was a British folk rock or electric folk band, formed in late 1980 from a nucleus of musicians who had been playing in Ashley Hutchings' Albion Band. Their short career is generally agreed to have peaked with the album Alright Jack, which is usually considered one of the finest products of the electric folk genre and has been highly influential on later work. Several members of the band, including most obviously John Tams, have gone on to very successful solo careers and to take part in other significant projects.

Celtic Fiddle Festival

Celtic Fiddle Festival was founded by Johnny Cunningham, Kevin Burke, and Christian Lemaitre. After the death of Cunningham in 2003, Andre Brunet was added to the group. Burke is a legend of Irish fiddle, while Lemaitre plays tunes from his native Brittany, and Andre Brunet from Quebec.

John Doan

John Doan, one of the few masters of the rare twenty-string harp guitar, has performed with a diverse range of artists including pop star Donovan, folk legend Burl Ives, jazz ace Larry Carlton, as a member of the New Christy Minstrels with Randy Sparks, among others and his virtuoso playing and arranging has attracted praise from no less a guitar luminary than Chet Atkins. Karen Matheson

Karen Matheson born on 11 February 1963. She grew up in the small village of Taynuilt in Argyll, Scotland. She is widely renowned for her clear vocals and being the first artist to have a hit in Gaelic, having learned the language as an adult. She is the lead singer in Capercaillie. Her husband Donald Shaw sings with her in the group.
She was awarded an OBE (Officer of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire) in the 2006 New Year's honours list.
