Goma

There are multiple artists that go by the name Goma. 1) GOMA is a Jungle Music producer and pioneering Japanese didgeridoo player. In the 1998 Arnhemland Barunga Didgeridoo Competition (judged by Galarrwuy Yunupingu), Goma received a prize, surprising audiences by being the first non-Aboriginal to be recognized. Since that time, as a solo player, session musician, and band member, he has steadily increased his audience by consistently striving to innovate and expand his musical horizons.

Yeshe

Singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Yeshe is a world nomad having lived in over 20 countries and embedding himself in their music and culture. His first solo album is titled World CitiZen. Born in West Germany, Yeshe was passionately interested in other cultures, especially Africa, from early childhood. As a young teenager Yeshe became involved in the flourishing 70s African music scene and by the age of 14 Yeshe was performing with a variety of percussion ensembles.

Michael Martin has been playing didgeridoo since 1996. His first real foray into dance music came in 1998 when he attended the Megadog Beach Festival in Cornwall after returning from a period of work and travel in Tanzania. Michael was so inspired by what he heard and experienced, that he decided to incorporate his didg playing into this style of music. At first he started out by playing along with various techno & trance DJ's (originally under the name Deviant Didg)at squat parties and clubs in London like The Fridge, Club 414, The Pleasure Rooms, Tyssen Street, and the Drome.

The Didgeridoo, the Jew's harp and the human beatbox together create an unmatchable soundworld that is so typical to Airtist. The band don't use any electronically produced sound. Electro-dance-slide-didg-slide guitar-flute-drums. I just heard these guys live at the Newtown Festival, Sydney, for the first time ever this weekend. They came down from the Sunshine Coast north of Brisbane, where the tropical heat has obviously had a good influence on them. Sometimes dreamy and slow, sometimes upfront crowdpleasing pumpers - these guys rock! With four studio albums, OKA shows a wide variety in their music. Absolutely mind blowing. OKA is also a pop group from Finland.
