Skyharbor is a djent/progressive metal band formed in New Delhi that started out as a simple bedroom studio project by guitarist Keshav Dhar. Although their memorable songs and melodic, hard-driving sound has earned them demo deals with both Immortal and Columbia, IF ALL ELSE FAILS decided to stick to their punk rock roots and pursue independent status in the spring of 2005. They havent looked back. Their music, a refreshing change from the love-angst emo and sugary pop-punk flooding todays popular radio, is rooted in classic songwriting, diverse melodies, pounding rhythms and a variety of lyrical topics ranging from the hypocrisy of fundamentalism to the uncaring greed of the modern American dream, fallen poets to falling bombs.
"Auburn," as you will quickly notice, refers to more than one band. First is an R&B/pop singer who sings "La La La." Most other tracks are from a southern metalcore band of the same name. According to the La La La Songfacts, Auburn Williams was born in Minneapolis to a single mother. She began singing in church and listened to nothing but gospel music as a kid. When she was 13, Auburn began performing with a local all-girl group called Loyal and she continued to work on her songwriting, posting tracks on her MySpace page growing her fanbase the grass-roots way.
There are several artists named The Outsiders (11 are mentioned here): (1) The Outsiders were a sixties beat band from Amsterdam, The Netherlands. Formed in 1960 as a neighbourhood band from Amsterdam East, The Outsiders became one of the most succesful Dutch groups of the 1960s. They made some lastingly great records and never recorded anyone else's material, with singer Wally Tax writing the lyrics and guitarist Ron Splinter the music for nearly all of the twelve 45s and three LPs they made.
Believe it or not, things used to be different. People used to start punk bands because they wanted to have fun, not because they needed a vehicle to get their faces on the covers of magazines. Artists used to tour to meet new people, not to sell products in various "markets." Above all, especially in the punk scene, bands in the past didn't believe in a division between themselves and their fans because at the end of the day they knew we were all the same.
Word Up! were a hardcore band from Byron Bay, Australia. They released a Demo in 2007 and another demo entitled Holy Moley in 2008. Their debut EP, Chillmatic, was released in 2009 and was soon followed up by their debut full length, Cabin Fever, in December 2010. On the back of these releases they played shows with Comeback Kid, Break Even and Carpathian and toured nationally with Parkway Drive, 50 Lions, Trapped Under Ice, Cruel Hand, Confession and Skyway.
Filippo Calcagni aka Dj Mad Dog started his DJ career just as joke. In 1995 after 3 years of hard work with the tecnichs, he met two friends (an M.C. and a DJ) with whom he formed a team: HARDCORE TERRORISTS. With this team Filippo has a lot of success especially in his city Rome.
In 1996 the Hardcore Terrorists made their debut with their first live-act at the QUBE (one of the symbol club in Rome). After that night, the performances of this team followed one another and their success was unavoidable!
Good Riddance is a punk rock band hailing from Santa Cruz, California. They formed in 1986 and after over twenty years, eight albums, and countless tours, played their farewell show in 2007. They played fast and explosive punk and hardcore music that was heavily influenced by the early American hardcore scene. The lyrical themes varied from political protests and analysis of the American society, to personal struggles and alienation. On occasion, the band had also been known to write slower, sometimes romantic songs.
