The Dead

There are at least four bands using the name "The Dead": *American; rock, jamband genres: The Dead, also known as the Other Ones, are a North American rock band composed of former members of the Grateful Dead. After the death of Jerry Garcia in 1995, Bob Weir, Phil Lesh, Mickey Hart, and Bill Kreutzmann formed a band called The Other Ones. They performed concert tours in 1998, 2000, and 2002, and released one album, The Strange Remain. In 2003, they changed their name to The Dead.

There are at least three artists with this name: 1) Australian Heavy Metal Band (1981 ~ Present) Taipan are a 3 piece from Melbourne that has helped pioneer Heavy metal in Australia.
Their first e.p Breakout, sold 10,000 copies in Europe and the band has a strong worldwide fan base.They reformed in 2007 to record Stonewitch and have another album Flamethrower that has just been released & will be available on itunes shortly.

XYZ

At least two bands are known under the name XYZ. 1. XYZ was a hook-laden heavy metal band. They were considered the unofficial house band of the Los Angeles nightclub The Whiskey in the mid 80's, but major success eluded them.
XYZ began in Los Angeles, California, with members Terry Ilous (vocals), Bobby Pieper (guitar), Patt Fontaine (bass) and Joey Pafumi (drums). An early development deal with Atlantic records led to the recording of their debut album, which quickly got radio play with the hits "Inside Out" and "What Keeps Me Loving You.

Black Books is a 5-piece southern indie rock band formed in Austin, Texas USA at the end of 2010. The band consists of Ross Gilfillan (vocals/drums), Meg Gilfillan (keyboards), Clarke Curtis (keyboards/synths), Kevin Butler (guitar), and Mike Parker (bass). Debut album due Summer 2013.

Texas Terri Bomb!

Texas Terri, born Terri Laird is a punk rock singer and songwriter originally from Austin, Texas. She has been in the rock 'n' roll business for over two decades. Terri has been compared to Iggy Pop, Lux Interior, Mick Jagger and Wendy O Williams amongst others by the music press. Like Williams, who coincidentally committed suicide on Terri's birthday, she has developed a reputation for wild, scantily clad stage antics including regular performances where she would rip off her shirt to only be censored by electrical tape reading 'TXT' (her preferred shortening of her name).

Dixie Witch

Drawing deep from the well of Southern rock and hard rock in general, Dixie Witch is, fittingly, from Denton, TX. Trinidad Leal (drums and vocals), JT (guitar 2009) - formerly Clayton Mills (guitar 1999-2009), and Curt Christensen (bass) have been playing together since 1999. The trio's first record, Into the Sun, was produced by the band for Texas-based Brainticket Records and released in the summer of 2001.

Neil Young & Crazy Horse

Canadian singer and songwriter Neil Young includes his personal garage band Crazy Horse ("second best backing band in the world") to make raw and unpolished rock. Their gritty style of rock has influenced countless artists and music styles. Crazy Horse is best known for its long association with Young, despite having released five albums of its own over a 19-year span. It has been co-credited with Young as Neil Young and Crazy Horse on 13 albums, "Live at the Fillmore East" from the 1970 tour (2006) being the last.
