Edd Garratt

Edd is a Singer/Songwriter currently gigging around London with his band. Massimo Troiani on bass and Conor Goold on drums. With a soulful voice that can make a room full of people fall silent, and songs to back it up, he has justifiable been compared to the likes of Ryan Adams and John Martyn. He has just recorded a 5 track demo with his band, which can be found at: http://www.myspace.com/eddgarratt I saw him live last month and will certainly be going to see him again. Definitely a talent to watch out for in 2010.

Hyperbowl

Hyperbowl started in a lunch break at university on the grassy verge. Matt was eating a wrap and getting ready for his outdoors gardening labour. I was rather cold in shorts before football in the winter season. we decided to do a project based on the word Hyperbowl.
'practising' went from playing pavement covers in my room, to playing under jason's clothes line to borrowing nikhil's room. once the membership of tom, ben, tim and matt (and the floating chris and bramble) fused together we did some gigs in sheffield, did a record in portsmouth and a show in brussels of all places.

Monica Queen

Monica has made records with Belle and Sebastian, Chris Coco, and James Grant among others. She was the singer in the awesome Thrum and presently makes records with Johnny Smillie under her own name that are like no other records you'll hear. No attempt to pastiche other artists or be part of any scene, they are as unique as they are beautiful. More inspired by soundtracks than the history of pop with a voice that has been compared to Liz Fraser of the Cocteau Twins, Emmy Lou Harris, Mary Margaret O'Hara and Kate Bush.

Stevie Jones

Stevie’s roots were laid down busking and playing floor spots at folk clubs in his native Northants. In the 90s he lived for two years in Germany, extensively gigging and spent time in Dublin, playing on the city’s fibrant open mic scene. These experiences provided him with a wealth of influences and inspiration and for the last four years he has been joined on stage by the awesome guitar skills of Mark Gill.

Binary Band

Binary Band is formed of the sparring vocal harmonies, dobro (slide guitar) and harmonium (missionary organ) of Ali Thoburn and Billy Tudor, and complimented by the occasional electric piano and pieces of catgut, dusty wood and rusty metal. The resulting sound is an earthy, wide-screen brew of American roots, English psychedelia, film soundtracks, North African blues and Far Eastern influences that brings to mind Neil Young, The Low Anthem, Peter Gabriel, The Band, Tinariwen and Traffic.
