Billy Cobham

Billy Cobham, born May 16, 1944 in Panama, is one of the world's most influential drummers, best known for his jazz fusion in the 1970s, with John McLaughlin's Mahavishnu Orchestra, where he pioneered a powerful style of drumming with jazz, rock and funk influences. He is the first drummer to unseat Buddy Rich in the Down Beat music polls. Cobham has played and recorded with hundreds of top musicians, including Miles Davis, Freddie Hubbard, Larry Coryell, and Horace Silver; and is famous for his explosive, fast, spectacular playing.

Guru

Guru (also known as "Bald Head Slick") is one half of the legendary hip hop group Gangstarr. Guru, an acronym for Gifted Unlimited Rhymes Universal, originally began his hip hop career in Boston but due to lack of local support moved to New York where Gangstarr then blew up. Guru is well known for his smooth voice; socially conscious and hardcore lyrics; and an effortless, confident delivery. Founded in 1987, Gang Starr built a sizable following in the early 90's, releasing classic albums like, Step in the Arena (1991) and Daily Operation (1992).

Gift Of Gab (Tim Parker) and Chief Xcel (Xavier Mosley) met at John F. Kennedy High School in 1987 in Sacramento, California and formed the group in the early 1990s. They released their first recording, "Swan Lake", on . The Solesides Crew consisted of the duo, as well as other friends of theirs they had met at University of California - Davis, including DJ Shadow, Lyrics Born and Lateef The Truth Speaker. The single was an underground hit, but label trouble prevented the duo from immediately capitalizing on their fame.

Art of Fresh

“Fresh” – a Hip-Hop term used in the late 80’s indicating something new and unique. Growing up in Hip-Hop’s Golden Era, Duane Gibson aka D.O. became of a fan HipHop music in the 80’s always looking for the newest, “freshest” HipHop music. When he became an MC in his twenties, he began working with Byram Joseph aka Slakah the Beatchild. A child of the nineties, Joseph grew up in a different era of HipHop.

Kev Choice

This Oakland native is an up and coming M.C. as well as an accomplished pianist and musician. He fronts a 10-piece band called "Kev Choice Ensemble" and brings a diversity and creativity to live hip-hop never before seen. He is also a producer and his mostly self-produced album "The Broken Mold" will be released in 2009. He is a conscious m.c. in the veigns of Common and Nas who uses wit and creative lyricism to bring a positive and inspiring message to Hip-Hop.

The Omen

After a tumultuous year in 2009, The Omen return with a new line up, new music and a renewed vigour to play thrash in 2010. Joining Rory, Joel and Coops are the newly relocated Reece from Stand Defiant on Guitar, and Craigos from Seduction/In Name and Blood on vocals.
Together the group play a unique blend of flat stick thrash influenced from their love of Punk and Hardcore.
The Band have just released a 7inch record consiting 3 songs recorded live to the digital format by the band themselves, in the room where the band rehearse at Melbournes Three Phase studios.

Dudley Perkins

As a vocal muse for Madlib’s creations, Dudley is unmatched; he’s earned first pick at Madlib’s prized beat collections. Just like Madvillain or Quasimoto, the Dudley/Madlib combination is a facet unto its own – on par with the most illustrious collaboration projects in Madlib’s catalog. His dynamic sophomore effort, entitled Expressions (2012 A.U.), takes an extended detour in the direction of Parliament’s Mothership Connection. The funk is strong this time around – as is the soul music that brought tears to the eyes of Dudley’s and Madlib’s aunts and uncles back in the golden days.

The Antidotes

Coming straight from Los Angeles, The Antidotes are a breath of fresh air. Friends since high school, the group of 4, consisting of MarkFader, Phenomenon, Jo Well & Konscious K, have done shows with the likes of U-N-I, Blu, Souls Of Mischief, Ugly Duckling, Visionaries and many more artist. Priding themselves in their live shows, the group was even scouted by none other than Taboo from the Black Eyed Peas at Temple Bar in Santa Monica. The group just recently signed a deal with GoonTrax: Media Factory of Japan and dropped a new EP which was put online for free.
