Horizons

There are three artists with this name 1. In late 2009, within the city of Mississauga, Ontario, three close friends found themselves envisioning a dream. It was the realization of an inherent passion for writing and playing music, but ultimately, the formation of Horizons. As the core of the band was already set into place, guitarists Doug Meadows, Ben Zamora, & drummer Cameron Ridgeway began the search for the missing pieces. Within mere days, vocalist Chris Cosentino & bassist Borys Petriczko found their place among like-minded musicians with similar tastes & aspirations.

Artist Type:

Hella

Hella began in 2001 in Sacramento, California as a two member band consisting of Zach Hill and Spencer Seim writing technically intricate music of a highly spastic nature. They play a blend of math rock and noise rock. On early albums, the band forged their classic sound, playing minimally arranged, abrasive instrumentals that still retain an idiosyncratic sense of melody. In 2005, the band expanded their live band by adding Dan Elkan on vocals, rhythm guitar, and synth and Jonathan Hischke on bass guitar.

Devil Sold His Soul

Forming in 2004, from the ashes of experimental metal outfit Mahumodo, Devil Sold His Soul took Rick's (orig guitarist of Mahumodo) original concept of sweeping chord progression based epic songs to the next level. Releases to date include an ep Darkness Prevails (re-released in 2007 with live footage, tracks and studio cuts) and their debut album A Fragile Hope which was received with great acclaim from both press and listeners alike.

Handsome

When five pieces from the splintered membership of hardcore's most influential '90s outfits came together, Handsome was formed and the songwriting, textural, and creative limits of an entire genre of rock music were expanded to a previously unimaginable degree. At its center, Handsome was directed by former Helmet guitarist Peter Mengede. While not officially credited as the group's songwriter, Mengede's very identifiable riffs and song structures seem to be a musical basis for Handsome's music.

Artist Type:

Reds

There are three artists by this name. (1) Born in the spring of 2004, REDS brings together four individuals with disparate backgrounds in a way that both creates tension and finds harmony. Their individual roots are recognizable .. but find balance and unity within the songs... the songs fly along at furious speeds, rarely letting up, and never losing their intensity. The lyrics, mostly shouted and screamed but occasionally sung, strive to pointedly connect the personal and political - showing clear anger and frustration yet never letting go of positivity and optimism.
