Thomas Brinkmann

Thomas Brinkmann (born 1959) is a highly regarded German producer of experimental music. Although experimenting with records since the early eighties, he gained wide reputation with his re-workings of material by fellow artists Mike Ink and Richie Hawtin released in the second half of the 90s. These productions were made by playing physically modified vinyl records on highly customized turntables with an additional tone arm.

Puzzleweasel

Sound wise, the tracks off Puzzleweasel fall somewhere between Richard Devine and Venetian Snares, with a playful sci-fi edge. Abrupt and consequently teasing and shifting beats with a jungle background. It is a completely unpredictable sonic nightmare full of energy and cutup beats. It has the intensity of harsh noise and is made as a full-frontal attack on the dancefloor. Peter Dahlgreen "Puzzleweasel" was born in Zurich lived in Amsterdam, Copenhagen, Norway and now living in Aarhus Denmark, where he is a student on the conservatory of music in the electronic department.

Shinra

1. As a young primary school boy, Shinra first started his audio experiments on his trusty Amiga 600 computer, producing goodness knows what with OCTAmed 4 software. As the years went by, he spent many long hours on the decks in his living room, djing progressive house to an audience of just himself :( Fast forward to about the year 2000, when he first obtained a cd by the mighty Aphex, and his musical tastes were forever changed. Since then, Shinra has been banging out crazy tunes on his laptop like nobody's business.

Artist Type:

Polinski

Polinski is a new project for Paul Wolinski, programmer of 65daysofstatic. It's a return to his beat-driven sampling and synth days, trying to meld loud, scruffy, analogue fuzziness with sparkly melodies. Like the walls of sound made by Oneohtrix Point Never and Fuck Buttons with added beats, or the old school melodies of Underworld and Orbital coated in warm distortion. No matter how hard he tries (which isn't all that hard), he can't quite pull himself free of his preoccupation with massive blasts of noise and relentlessness that 65days specialise in.
