Slug is the name used by multiple musical acts: (1) American hip hop artist Sean Daley, of Atmosphere; (2) South African trance artist Liam Gibbs; (3) a Los Angeles avant/noise rock band; (4) a Chicago-based trance/breakbeat producer; (5) a house DJ from the Shetland Isles, (6) a singer-songwriter from the UK and (7) a south american thrash-metal band.

Minneapolis, Minnesota isn`t exactly the ideal spot to try and maintain a career in hip hop, but somehow, Slug has managed to do just that.

Miranda July

Miranda July (born February 1, 1974) is a performance artist, musician, writer, and film director. She currently resides in Los Angeles, California, after having lived for many years in Portland, Oregon. Born Miranda Jennifer Grossinger, she works under the surname of "July" because she says it is the month that most facilitates her creativity. She was born in Barre, Vermont (Timothy Leary was her godfather), grew up in Berkeley, California, and later attended UC Santa Cruz. After leaving college, she moved to Portland and took up performance art.

There are several artists with this name: 1. A Dutch indie band from Eindhoven/Horst. Momentarily they are in rest. The band made it through to the European finals of one of the biggest bandcontests in de world. Leadsinger Aran Jeurissen nowadays performs solo as Songs Of Aran. 2. A UK based, socially conscious downtempo group fronted by musician and social activist Seth Mowshowitz – himself of Canadian, American and Dutch origin. Their music is characterised by the mixing of humanitarian voices including Martin Luther King, Kurt Vonnegut and Jimmy Carter with downtempo beats.

Derek Meins

Derek Meins is a Scottish singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist (predominantly guitar and piano) and poet. He first earnt recognition as lead vocalist and guitarist with Berwick-upon-Tweed based indie band Eastern Lane, who released two albums before disbanding in 2006. Meins' studio recordings and live performances comprise of both light-hearted ramshackle folk pop and poetic monologues, both characterised by his distinctive, often over-the-top and theatrical delivery.

Mike Myers

There are at least two artists with this name:
1. Michael John "Mike" Myers is a Canadian actor, comedian and screenwriter, best known for his film roles as the title character in the Austin Powers series, Wayne Campbell (Wayne's World), and the voice of Shrek. The tracks "This Poem Sucks", "What's New Pussycat" and "9 to 5" (among others) were recorded by Myers. As "Austin Powers", he is a member of the band Ming Tea.

Laurie Anderson

Laurie Anderson is an American experimental performance artist, visual artist and musician. Regardless of the medium, a common characteristic of all her work seems to be the act of storytelling. Laura Phillips Anderson was born June 5, 1947, in Glen Ellyn, Illinois, United States. She attended Mills College in California, and eventually graduated from Barnard College magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa, studying art history. In 1972, she obtained an MFA in sculpture from Columbia University.
