J.Phlip

In a male-dominated industry, it’s hard to find girl DJs who are as down to earth and talented as J. Phlip. Hailing from the Midwest and a recent addition to the famous Dirtybird crew, J. Phlip’s newest record Rumble Rumble drops this week. This prolific DJ also has remixes coming out on Dotbeep and Alland Byallo’s Nightlight label. Blending the sounds of house and showing off her audio engineering skills, there’s no way one can ignore her original beats that radiate energy and innovation.

Dopplereffekt

Dopplereffekt are one of the strangest and most mysterious units of the contemporary electronic music scene. There are no interviews and hardly any live appearances. Nobody really knows who they are, their releases have so far only been available on limited vinyl on Dataphysix/Detroit. The composers hide behind strange German pseudonyms whereas the track titles and lyrics are in English and make up a strange mixture of scientific, sexually explicit and political allusions. Dopplereffekt's music is also highly eclectic and unusual.

Franck Roger

DJ since 13 years now and producer since 7 years Franck Roger has fully understood that making music and spread
worldwide the House Music message is the most important thing in his life... Indeed, Franck has multiplied the releases on labels as prestigious and well respected on the international scene as Kenlou (Kenny Dope and Louie Vega / USA) Versatile (Dj Gilb'r / France), Crash (Dino & Terry / Canada), Flowers (Japan), Needs (Germany), BBE (UK), Defected rds, Sole Channel, King Street,Especial (Japan), Spacekat (UK). Without a doubt Franck is the DJ & producer the most 'in view'.

Xela

There are at least two artists called Xela: 1) Electronica artist John Twells is one of the owners of Type. He got involved with the music scene after being signed by Neo Ouija records to release his debut album For Frosty Mornings and Summer Nights, since then he has released a followup on the City Centre Offices label, and also a collaboration with Type Records artist Logreybeam, under the Yasume moniker. He is currently working on his third solo album (which is proving quite difficult thanks to all his time being taken up by the label). www.learnwithxela.com
