Partisan is a psychedelic vocal band from Milwaukee, WI. They started making music in February 2005. Partisan is also a german underground rap artist. He is part of the rap group Goodfellas but also released a solo ep, avalible for free on www.ruffiction.de Partisan is also a laptop music producer and DJ from Oxford, UK.
Daevid Allen was one of the founders of the British progressive rock band the Soft Machine in 1966. After recording just one album with the group, he became the founder/leader of Gong, which he left in 1973 to begin a solo career (though his first solo album, Banana Moon, was released in 1971 while he was still in the group). Allen explored his quirky, folky take on rock throughout the '70s and '80s on albums like 1976's Good Morning and 1983's Alien In New York.
Douga is the alias of multi-instrumentalist and songwriter Johnny Winbolt-Lewis. As well as lending his drumming talents to new Manchester instrumental trio Plank! he's been crafting an entirely new set of songs which showcase his non-drumstick related talents. The name Douga comes from a childhood nickname. “Making music I find comparable to being a kid because it's exercising that 'childlike' imagination.”
The Darling Ranges lie about 35 km's south of Perth, Western Australia. The drive is mostly highway, fairly droll until you start actually ascending the hills themselves, at which point great dips and troughs reveal themselves and the whole region takes on a strange arid quality. The area was on fire for about 4 days in early 2011. Joe Mckee grew up in these hills and, after 4 years under the spell of Lon...don, he returned to them. Burning Boy is his debut album.
Northern Irish band Bad Boat has been playing their wreck of rock to appreciative audiences and putting out well-received original recordings since 2003. There are indeed a variety of styles celebrated in each song and a prevailing positivity in the progressive aspect of their growing soundscape.
