Anna Salen are an instrumental rock band from Melbourne, Australia. Their sound could be described as being influenced by progressive rock and math rock. The three members of the band are David Morgan (guitars/keys), Paul Risso (bass/keys) and Shaun Scott (drums).
one: Owl Eyes is Brooke Addamo, a 19 year old Melbourne singer/songwriter who threads elaborate fantasies of escapism in fictional worlds into breezy, intelligent indie-pop songs. Although she was eliminated from Australian Idol, where she was a contestant during season 6, she is now paving her own way up the charts. On her EP Faces, she teamed up with producer Jan Skubiszewski (The Cat Empire, Phrase, Kram , and has been described as a "honey-voiced Melbournite who has a habit of conjuring up wistful, dreamy pop tunes."
There are three bands calling themselves The Beards - one from Adelaide, Australia, another from Norway, and the third a U.S. sideproject of several female musicians. 1) Beard based band from Adelaide Australia The Beards play "Bearded Music for Bearded People" and are the only band in the world playing solely beard based music. They have been officially invited to play the opening ceremony of the 2009 World Beard and Moustache Championships in Alaska.
Ezekiel Ox is a musician from Melbourne, Australia. He fronted the band Full Scale from 1998-2005; after their break-up he formed Mammal with Pete Williamson, Nick Adams and Zane Rosanoski. Mammal disbanded in October 2009. In late 2009 he took part in a Full Scale reunion of sorts with Tristan Ross (guitar), Ben Brennan (bass) and Matt Crute (drums). This new incarnation of the band changed their name to Full Scale Revolution in 2010, performing several successful small-scale tours of Australia, before disbanding again on September 6 2010.
