Joy Division were a post-punk band formed in 1976 in Salford, Greater Manchester, United Kingdom. The band dissolved in May 1980 after the suicide of its lead singer, Ian Curtis. Much of their popularity/reputation arguably resulted from frequent playings on air by iconic DJ John Peel, but it is easy now to overlook the impact that the first album, Unknown Pleasures, had on post-punk music at the time, as reference the number of prominent bands that cited this album as an influence.

There is more than one artist with this name: 1) Indian rock band: Euphoria were among the first to bring rock culture to India. They mixed electric guitar with traditional instruments like the tabla, dholak and sitar to create mesmerising effects. 2) post-rock band from Tokyo, Japan.

Their self-titled debut album was released in October 2003 on the Los Angeles/Cleveland label Elephant Stone which drew praise from major publications such as The Big Takeover, Skyscraper, Exclaim, and Creem. Crowley got his start playing with The Last before doing time in The Brian Jonestown Massacre followed by recording and touring withThe Warlocks He joined Vaz for their own kind of neo-shoegazer mix in 2004.
