Kid Congo Powers is the stage name of Brian Tristan (born 1960, Los Angeles, California), an American rock guitarist and singer, best known as a member of The Gun Club, The Cramps, and Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds. Most of his career has found him exploring the territory where punk rock joins older "roots music" styles. Powers is a second generation Mexican American born and raised in Los Angeles. There is more than one artist named Morning Glory: 1) Morning Glory is one of the many bands to spawn from Choking Victim, led by Ezra Crack. They also play ska/punk somewhat like Choking Victim, and members are drawn from the wide pool of punk rock musicians in New York City. In the early days (circa 2001, near the breakup of INDK) Ezra began working on a solo project, but with input and help from many other musicians. With a guitar, an 8-track, and a drum machine, he wrote and produced "This is No Time ta Sleep".
Lee Morgan (10 July 1938 - 19 February 1972) was an American hard-bop jazz trumpeter. Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Morgan was a jazz prodigy, joining the Dizzy Gillespie big band at 18, remaining a member for two years. In 1956 he began recording as a leader, mainly for the Blue Note label; eventually he recorded twenty-five albums for the company. Morgan's principal influence as a player was Clifford Brown, having had direct contact with him before Brown's premature death.
